Synopsis
Armandə, 72, lives in Brescia, northern Italy. They are a man (Armando) and a woman (Armanda), a believer and a sex worker, a conservative and a passionate photographer. This inner split has given rise to an inexpressible, invisible suffering. Today, Armandə is gravely ill but holds a hidden treasure: the story and photographs of a clandestine brothel — a refuge for the first transgender movement in Brescia during the 1970s — where Armandə lived with her companions in the world of sex work: La Dollhouse.
Armandə wishes to reveal the value of this extraordinary legacy to the world before disappearing… and perhaps, in the process, reconcile their two identities.
