Malfé Film

Malfé Film is a dynamic film production company based in Turin specialized in producing and co-producing international creative documentaries and art house films. we developed and produced Tutti pazzi per Paolo by Donato Canosa (2018) (with the support of Piemonte Doc Film Fund) and Un uomo deve essere forte by Elsi Perino and Ilaria Ciavattini, presented at Festival dei Popoli 2019 and other international festivals, winner of the Female of change Award at Female Filmmakers Film Festival Berlin. In 2018 we collaborated with Vrai Vrai Film (France) for the production of Joel Akafou’s Traverser (After the Cros- sing), presented at Berlinale 2020 and Vision du Réel. Our internationalization work has led us to present our projects at the most important international festivals and industry markets. Our interest in a cinema that explores the line between reality and fiction does not stop at creative documentaries.

In 2019 we co-produced with Atacama Film and Ouverts the short film Zheng by Giacomo Sebastiani.
The growth process of our company is based on the constant investment in the internationalisation of projects, both in the development of international collaborations and in the constant presence in international industry events. Over the years we have presented projects or participated in various capacities in: Industry Days in Turin, Milano FIlm Network, Mia, CPH Doc Market, When East Meet West, Thessaloniki Agora, Nebulae Doc Lisboa, Ventana Sur, Europe- an Film Market, Cinéma du Réel. Mother Lode by Matteo Tortone is a co-production with France and Switzerland, with the participation of RTS. It won the Eurimages Lab Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and had its world premiere at the 36th Venice International Film Critics’ Week. and a theatrical distribution in Italy, France, Switzerland.

Enrico Giovannone

Montatore e produttore

Nato a Chieri nel 1978, ha fondato BabyDoc Film nel 2007. Ha prodotto e montato, tra le altre cose, i documentari Rata Nece Biti (La guerra non ci sarà!), di Daniele Gaglianone, David di Donatello 2009, Il Futuro del Mondo Passa da Qui, di Andrea Deaglio, premio Joris Ivens a Cinema du Reel, Vite da Recupero, di Enrico Verra, Rai2 “Tracce”, il film di finzione Pietro, di Daniele Gaglianone, Festival di Locarno, Concorso Internazionale. Ha inoltre montato il film Ruggine, di Daniele Gaglianone, prodotto da Fandango, selezione ufficiale Giornate degli Autori/Venice Days. Nel 2016 fonda Malfé Film.

Matteo Tortone

Filmmaker | Producer | D.o.p.

Born in 1982, he is an italian filmmaker and producer. Graduated in Literature at the Università degli Studi di Torino, on 2011 he realized White Men, co-directed with Alessandro Baltera, presented at Festival dei Popoli di Firenze and at Bafici, DokLeipzig, Ankara Film Festival, it won the jury prize at Kazan Film Festival. In 2012 he realized Swahili Tales, co-directed with Alessandro Baltera. In 2014 he signed the cinematography of Rada(Roadstead), by Alessandro Abba Legnazzi. He won the prize for best cinematography at Krakow Film Festival (2015). Rada got a nomination as best documentary at Globi d’Oro (2015). In 2015 he co-directed On opposite fieldspresented in many International Film Festival. In 2018 he signed the cinematography of TRAVERSER (After the crossing)by Joel Akafou.
His last film Mother Lode (prod. France, Swiss, Italy), winner of the Eurimages Lab Award2019, had premiered at 36° Settimana Internazionale della Critica at the 78° Mostra del Cinema di Venezia.
