Malfé Film produces films and cultural projects.

Founded in 2016 by Enrico Giovannone and Matteo Tortone, Malfé develops films, co-productions and collaborations with filmmakers, production companies and institutions. Its work moves across documentary, short fiction, line production, editing, post-production and cultural projects.

The name Malfé.

The name comes from a remark by Roman Polanski in 2008, when he described Cassavetes’ films as “mal faits”. Not an aesthetic programme, more a reminder: not to follow a single format, and to build each project with its filmmakers.

The catalogue brings together documentaries, short films, archive-based works and cultural collaborations. Some titles began within Malfé; others came through encounters with producers, directors or institutions.

Co-productions and line production

For foreign projects we can join as minority co-producer or line producer in Italy, following funds, institutions, crews and locations.

Editing and post-production

We support filmmakers and producers through editing, reviewing materials, discussing narrative structure and the steps toward final delivery.
